Pros

Nothing much to say really.

Cons

The Company is like an ostracised kid in school trying too hard to fit in. Superficial with little substance. Management is superficial, arrogant and has little circumspection. Poor policies, processes and controls. Paltry benefits. Bad systems, while expecting employees to work magic. Good sounding values that do not synergise and complement work. All problems are swept under the management's narrative of "to think like a start-up". Very high turn over. Management keeps changing its mind. Seems like they can't get their act together.

Pros

1. Amazing team lead with supporting and encouraging colleagues. Interesting staff benefits (i.e staff sales, charity sales, in-house events, wellness events) 2. Location - in between the bustling office towers but surrounded by heartlands. 3. Work-Life-Balance - sometimes you give, and other times you take. 4. Very good way to kickstart your career as a fresh graduate.

Cons

1. Crazy expectations 2. Disorganized structures 3. Lots of micromanaging between different regional and global teams. 4. Lack of urgency in management to make decisions. 5. Unrealistic goals (i.e KPIs which historically proven otherwise) 6. Daunting and demanding tasks/management 7. Always changing processes and ways, never stick to one decision long enough to reap rewards/positive outcomes. 8. HR policies are always changing due to high turnover. 9. Underpaid for the amount of workload being thrown at you. 10. People failing to understand their responsibilities and everything is in a mess and everyone is expected to do everything 11. Lack of ownership and accountability 12. Toxic culture with finger pointing instead of resolving the issues together and learning from each other’s mistakes.

Pros

Steep learning curve. You’ll learn alot and the growth is exponential.

Cons

Toxic environment. They preach about flexibility and work life balance but it’s not the case. It depends on your line manager, your team (how lean it is) & the expectations of your key stakeholders. You’re expected to complete certain task(given at the VERY last minute) with a very tight dateline. It puts you through unnecessary stress and anxieties. With alot of changes implemented in a very short time, it’s difficult for you to cope & this leads to unproductive and inefficient ways of working, not sustainable in the long run. Some mid managers lack empathy and compassion (which is an irony because one of Coty’s Values were fearless kindness). Despite sharing your situation, concerns and issues, some managers fail to understand and compare you to your other colleagues (which is definitely unacceptable because different people have different coping mechanism/pace/tolerance). You’d come to work feeling afraid because there are no room for mistakes, you’d get scolded because you cant meet certain expectations. This affects the your morale and confidence, eventually you are unable to perform you are in a constantly anxious and afraid. Who you work with and report to makes alot of difference to the work environment. In my case, its not worth it.
