Pros

Sense of family among employees, nice office building, good day-to-day operations. Great benefits, decent pay.

Cons

After being at Countrymark for a couple of years, they starting hiring "bad people". By this I mean people who were not qualified for their positions, who focused on bringing everyone down and criticizing their cohorts. A consultant was also brought on board to evaluate everyone (a personal friend to the CEO) and it turned into him basically running the company and making business decisions that he had no business dealing with. It was very unprofessional to have a personal confidant advising the CEO in business matters. There were employees with bad attitudes who seemed to be rewarded, while others who were keeping the office afloat were ignored. Very discouraging to see the company go so far downhill in such a short amount of time. Not willing to promote from within, brings in people from the outside and from larger companies. I didn't have any potential for growth here.
