Lousy management at top level

Pros

Coworkers, in general, are the best thing about DATA CM. They try to work with each other with the limited resources and outdated technology they have.

Cons

Too much micromanaging in this company. There are more managers than employees, so this leads to decisions made by various managers which often contradict each other. One big power struggle at DATA CM. The IT department here is run like a sandwich shop. It is barely equipped to manage itself, leaving alone the rest of the business. Same goes for HR. Poor compensation and salary increases (took a few years before this even happened). Speaking out about any of these issues leads you nowhere. The lower management passes the buck as it is out of their hands for various reasons. Passing the buck is what DATA CM excels at!

Pros

Only pro I can think of is it was close to home

Cons

Company seems to be stuck in the 80's. Management lacks the ability to respect its employees and treats them like children in kindergarden. They are so behind with the times can't even use your cell in the office its not allowed WHAT! The internet is policed you can't even check the news during your lunch. They are total control freaks.

a constant promise of change

Pros

Knowledgeable coworkers who genuinely care about their clients and product. They want to do a better job than they are being enabled to.

Cons

Constant frustrations due to too much work, lack of training, no work/life balance and unfulfilled promises of change. There is a rampant rumor mill with little effort from upper management to correct with the truth. Despite many times trying to affect change with many different managers there was little to no follow through though action plans were created and ready implement. Bad behaviour (bad attitudes and bullying stemming from an environment of frustration) goes unaddressed at all levels, even when brought up to managers.
