Pros

The manager has a clear focus of the team's direction without micromanaging. Very easy to work for. The engineering team is great to work with and very competent.

Cons

was bound by decisions, made by the parent company in Chicago, which sometimes seemed arbitrary

Pros

People are really committed to the business and to supporting each other. You get the benefit of working for a smaller company, with access to leadership, opportunities to do a variety of work and make a difference, yet you have the backing of a larger organization (Cars.com) which gives more access to resources and opportunities for advancement. I stay in touch with many of my former co-workers and they have been able to adapt well to the new remote world quite well and haven't skipped a beat.

Cons

It can be challenging when you're part of a larger organization, because what's most important for you may not be the most important for them. That could be said of many different places and is not unique to DealerRater.
