Pros

Nothing that I can think of. I don't even know why this company has 4.5 stars. Maybe because they tampering with the reviews to encourage applicants to apply when in fact, HR is just struggling to hire designers because of the high turnover rate.

Cons

1. High turnover rate. 2. The company still accepts toxic clients. 3. They always say "Just talk to us about your concerns", "Speak up", and many more, but yeah, you literally speak up about your concerns. There's no action moving forward. 4. QAs and AMs are BS. QAs - too slow so even if you work early, you still get to work late because of them. If the designer is the cause of overtime, they'll automatically report it from the management but if the QAs, never mind. AMs will bombard you with a lot of work. One thing I don't get about the AM is that even if the project is too vague, they'll just force you to start to work on it, and of course, your time just got wasted working on nonsense output. 5. You'll not become a "Designer" here, you'll become a pixel-mover instead of being a problem-solver. You'll not learn anything from here except from technical skills that you can search on the internet, there's no even conceptualization and design thinking.

Hey there, Thiago here! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about working with us. We appreciate all feedback, even when it's not so positive. Let's chat about some of the points you raised: First off, our 4.5-star rating comes from honest reviews by our team members. We don't mess with that. In fact, we wouldn't be able to even if we tried, as Glassdoor doesn't allow it. If that were the case, wouldn't we delete your review just because it's negative? Yet, it's still here. Our turnover rate is the lowest we know of in the industry. We pay our people fairly and, in most cases, above their asking rate. Not to mention the plethora of bonuses and benefits we've been adding during the past year. I understand your confusion because we hire new designers every week due to our growth. We do our best to hire great designers, the top 1%, and we're proud of the talented folks who choose to work with us. About our clients, we pick them very carefully. As you probably know, we conduct client-fit calls with 90% of them before they sign up. Sometimes projects can be tough, but we always try to create a good work environment for our team. You've probably seen for yourself that when a client is being unreasonable (I would never call them "toxic"), we terminate our agreement with them. We have many ways for you to speak up, including talking directly to leadership. If you've spoken to someone in leadership and still felt your issues weren't addressed, I'd love to know more so we can do better. I checked our logs and couldn't see any complaints. Unfortunately, for us to address concerns, we need to hear about them. Our QAs and AMs work hard to keep all projects running smoothly. They face challenges too, just like designers. We're all in this together, trying to do our best work. Again, this is another point where you could have used "Speak out," but I can't find any complaints being reported. You might have had a hard time with us, but please don't believe you share the same experience as everyone. As you hear from dozens of our designers during every Wednesday meeting, they share how much they're learning and how their lives as designers have changed by working with us. I'm super proud of the impressive number of people who either left us or are still with us but keep praising our environment for our learning and development programs. I'm sorry you either didn't get to take part or chose not to do so. I'd love to chat more about your experience and see how we can make things better. Every view helps us grow. You know how to find me. Thanks again for your feedback!

Heavy Workload and Toxic Environment

Pros

I don't even know they destroyed my mental health

Cons

Firstly, the workload is extremely heavy and it does not seem to be reflected in my salary. Additionally, the work culture is toxic, with politics and gaslighting prevalent throughout the company. Secondly, the company does not provide sufficient holidays, and the Christmas bonus of only 2500 PHP is quite disappointing. Lastly, I have not seen any salary increases despite my hard work and dedication, which is discouraging and demotivating.

I wanted to take a moment to personally address your recent review of our company. While we value feedback, I'm really disappointed to see the negative comments you left about our culture, workload, and compensation. At Deer Designer, we pride ourselves on creating a positive and inclusive environment where everyone feels heard and valued. We understand that communication is key, which is why we encourage our team members to speak openly and directly with us - including me, the founder - whenever they have concerns. From day one I've established an "open doors" policy where anyone can come to me with any concerns they might have. And if you really worked here, you know that as I'm very vocal about it in all our meetings. Regarding workload, we regularly conduct surveys with the team and have not received any complaints about excessive tasks or workload from our team. In fact, we strive to provide a balanced workload of 2-4 tasks per day for each designer, which is well below industry standards. As for compensation, we are proud to offer fair and competitive salaries, as well as annual pay raises for all team members without the need for them to request it. We understand that our policies, salary, and benefits are clearly communicated during the hiring process, so if you had any concerns or doubts, it would have been best to address them before joining. I'm sorry that your experience at Deer Designer did not meet your expectations, but I must point out that your review seems to be an attempt to tarnish our reputation rather than provide an honest evaluation of your time here. We welcome genuine feedback, but anonymous and malicious reviews do not reflect the values and culture we strive to foster. And it's very easy to verify that by reaching out to current or former team members on Linkedin. I'm confident that their experiences will paint a different picture of Deer Designer than what you have described. If you have any genuine concerns or feedback, I invite you to reach out to me directly. If you had the time to come here and leave such review, I'm sure you won't have an issue to send me an email, right? Thank you for your time at Deer Designer, and I hope you find what you're looking for Sincerely, Thiago de Carvalho

Pros

The company highly suggests no overtime.

Cons

I have unfortunately found myself disappointed with the level of service provided. While the agency initially demonstrated a high level of expertise and creativity in their designs, over time it has become apparent that the agency is constrained by a number of factors that limit their ability to grow and innovate. One of the primary issues is the agency's reliance on repetitive tasks, which has resulted in a lack of variety and fresh ideas in their designs. Despite my requests for more innovative approaches, the agency seems unable or unwilling to deviate from their standard practices. This has made the design process feel stale and uninspired, and I have found myself looking elsewhere for more dynamic and forward-thinking agencies. Additionally, the bureaucratic system that the agency operates under has proven to be a hindrance rather than a help. Simple requests and changes to the design are met with unnecessary delays and red tape, slowing down the process and making it difficult to achieve my desired outcomes in a timely manner.

We were disappointed to read your negative review of our agency on Glassdoor. We take all feedback seriously, and we would like to address some of the points you raised. First of all, we don't think there are any restrictions on our business that prevent it from expanding and innovating. On the contrary, we encourage our team to think outside the box and come up with fresh ideas for each project. We also welcome feedback and input from our clients, and we are always willing to try new approaches to achieve the desired outcomes. I'm also confused to learn that you found our work to be limited by repetitive tasks. It's the first time we get such feedback. Our clients request HUNDREDS of different tasks on a daily basis. If anything, the feedback we get from our team members is that they never get bored as they get to design different things every day. Instead, we approach each project with a bespoke mindset, tailoring our work to the specific needs and objectives of our clients. We are proud of our ability to provide a high level of expertise and creativity in our designs, and we have received positive feedback from hundreds of clients on this aspect of our work. Regarding bureaucracy, we aim to strike a balance between efficiency and thoroughness. We have a set process in place to make sure that all requests and changes are dealt with quickly and correctly, but we also know how important it is to be flexible and able to adapt in our work. If you experienced any delays or frustrations with our processes, we would encourage you to speak to us directly so that we can address the issue and improve our service. Finally, we would like to encourage you to speak up and share your feedback with us directly. We value open communication and constructive criticism, and we believe that it is the best way to improve our service and meet the needs of our clients. You do know we have an "open doors" policy, and even the founder is open to thoughts and ideas on a daily basis. While we appreciate your anonymous review, we would prefer to have a dialogue with you so that we can address your concerns in a more meaningful way.
