I worked alongside a great team that drove content, marketing, and public relations for the company while also, cross-collaborating with development, product & engineering, and programming & impact. The small but mighty team worked hard to execute and deliver the work under tough deadlines and also respected honest feedback and work-life balance.

Cons

You wear many hats with little to no recognition. It is tough to work in an environment where leadership does not take accountability for mismanagement, unrealistic deadlines, and a culture that struggles to implement DEI internally. Burn-out is to be expected.

Friendly colleagues as well as important programming/mission.

Cons

Dysfunctional, overwhelming and at times toxic experience. There wasn't any transparency about the reality of the organization's situation or their actual management style during the interview process, and I was not treated well here by my supervisor. They also seem more focused on performative internal processes than actually doing the work effectively.
