      Pros

      There are great people who work for Dowbuilt and who have strong values and passion for building amazing homes. Because it is a large company, there is a fair amount of support on the back end. Systems are established for document management, organization and processes.

      Cons

      I can't recommend working for Dowbuilt in Los Angeles in project management. Leadership is sorely lacking in this region. Passion, hard work and experience are not valued as much as 'optics'. This office does not offer an environment where you can speak up about issues or problems with a project. If you do, you may find yourself removed from a project or cast aside.

      Great projects, lacks diversity

      Pros

      The company takes on amazing projects in beautiful locations, and the craftsmanship is truly inspiring. There’s a talented group of people both in the office and out in the field, many of whom have valuable experience to share.

      Cons

      Efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion have not been prioritized. Although leadership’s intentions seem genuine, making real changes appears to be outside of their comfort zone. Labor shortages are made worse by the exclusive nature of the projects and low pay (for level of skill and discretion needed). Inexperienced project engineers are unable to support the build teams. The operational systems are unnecessarily complex and siloed. Key departments avoid accountability and drag down the build process.
