Pros

You'll like it if you are a people person.

Cons

Just about everything. Terrible medical insurance - expensive. Nepotism. Management singles out one or two people and will find whatever they can to try and get rid of them for whatever reason. Horrible ethics. Horrible ego-driven Managers. Training is HORRIBLE.

Thank you for your feedback. We are a continuous learning organization and will incorporate your suggestions as we move forward. As a growing organization, we have added medical, dental, vision, and 401K benefits for full-time employees. We even added Paid Leave for our instructors. While it does not seem the organization met your expectations we are pleased that our employees have voted us a Denver Top Workplace for 7 years in a row. We are a company of good, caring and hardworking individuals and are proud of our accomplishments in serving our customers and community. We wish you the best with your career.

Not a real management position

Pros

Get to run some business errands using one of the drivesafe cars, beyond that it comes with normal benefits (medical, dental) but that is expected from most full time positions.

Cons

Center managers are glorified sales people, without any of the sales perks. Corporate management will provide you with sales goals, without any sale incentives (no bonuses). You have no real control over the hiring of individuals in your center (be it drivers or assistants), your budget, marketing, handing out promotions, etc, all of this is handled at a corporate level. You are honestly going to make more money as a manager at a fast food place than here, and even work less hours. Expect to spend most of your time behind the phone selling packages for DriveSafe & Baron Education. Upper management is full of nepotism, they will promote their own family and friends, don't be surprised if they hire a buddy or family member and then just place them as your employee without any input.

Thank you for your feedback. We will learn from your input and work hard to continually improve our company and business. It takes a tremendous effort to build a business but it is the caring and hardworking team members that allow it to grow into a great organization. You share many thoughts about the role of a Center Manager and yes managers play a key role in growing their businesses through sales. The sales are all in-bound so it differs from a true "sales" role where you are cold-calling for business. Truly any management position involves responsibility to grow the business and this is understood by experienced managers. As the business has grown we continually evolve the managerial role and have addressed many of the issues you raise from your review a few years ago. We will continue with our team to address challenges, create opportunities and be a place of choice for employees to work and build careers. We wish you the best in your career.

Pros

some flexibility of hours but you will work mostly week nights, weekends and summer days when students are available to drive

Cons

The drive instructors are the most important people to the organization in terms of driving revenue yet the company treats them like outsiders. Partially because they are always out doing drives. Everyone will be your boss, and logistics are unreasonable. The drives have to be 2 hours (by the state) They schedule the lessons back to back with no time in between.Yet the state of CO says there has to be 3-5 minutes between drives and you will have to also give a brief report, use the restroom and meet your next student but some how the drive must be a full two hours. Also in the 9 years I was there instructor safety was never mentioned or brought up about the job. You can literally be killed being a drive instructor. not sure they cared.
