Pros

It is slightly better to work at Dynamic Aviation than it is to be unemployed. It is easy to commiserate with other employees. Payroll is fairly dependable. Uniform allowance covers the purchase of approximately 2 shirts and 2 trousers. Vast parking area.

Cons

Inefficient processes. Archaic maintenance tracking systems. Inconsistent implementation/enforcement of company policy. Higher than advertised cost of living. Impenetrable "good ol' boy" network.

Pros

You get aircraft experience locally that you can't get anywhere else in the valley. You have a chance to work on D.O.D. projects that will look good on your resume so you can go somewhere else. There are a wide variety of small and medium aircraft to work on. Pay is decent.

Cons

Management has gone off the deep end since the company started D.O.D. contracts in the mid 2000's. They do not care about their employees anymore like they used to, and haven't had a raise in 5yrs! I suffered deep emotional stress while I was there, and lost nights of sleep because of it. I was always in fear of losing my job because of some of the back-stabbing co-workers I worked with because I could never fully trust them. The owner, judges you the first time he meets you, and if you don't impress him first thing, it will be in your best interest to avoid further contact with this man. The CEO used to be a great guy, a bit loopy, but ok. Now he likes to surround himself with generals and military high ups, he has no time to talk to the workers and get to know them like he used to. Company picnics were cancelled and Christmas parties were a joke. My in-law got a job working in the records office and also suffered emotional stress. She said the records manager was not very nice, and hardly gave her anything to do. She finally quit. I was planning on retiring here, but if you are not in the "click" with upper management you won't stay long weather you get canned or quit. I do not recommend anyone to work at this place. It is poisonous to a person's soul.

Pros

Experience that you cannot get anywhere else. You get to break all the FARs you ever wanted to legally... You get to hear the coast guard helicopters try to bust you with ATC for low level over the metro area. Night vision goggles are a plus.

Cons

25.5k a year as an FO to fly with 200 gallons of economic poison three feet from you at 100-300 feet off the ground. Upgrade takes about a year. Amounted about 500 hours a year of flight time with about 50 hr of it counting toward FAA spray PIC over congested areas. The amount of money for the risk doesnt really make sense at the end of the day. On call every day. Middle management doesn't know what their managers do to control costs, IE cut benefits for Pilots. Maintenance is also sometimes sketchy, but most of the time is good.
