Good people...Terrible management.

Pros

Bigger company that spans the globe, however it feels much smaller. You get to know the people very well, small company feel. They are an engineering company that makes a very stellar product. Place will get better when owner is forced out.

Cons

Management is terrible, and most of them got their job just by being related to, or sucking up to the owner. Owner is a micro managing fool that dictates all, and nobody there has the guts to correct him out of fear of their jobs. The whole place is ran like a manufacturing facility, until recently they still had buzzers telling the office workers when it was break time and or lunch time. No raises during economy downturn (not true for owners pet employees). Lots of layoffs. Managers only interested in having meetings, nothing comes out of them...and no work gets done. Just more meetings, and after that meeting, a follow up meeting. If all the top level managers (99% men) were let go and forced to find other jobs, they would all struggle. And most likely settle for much lower positions.

Pros

The company offers a very practical product that meets customer expectations.

Cons

The company has a long way to go when it comes to fairness and respect of its employees, especially with employees below the executive level. There is a corporate culture that lacks cohesiveness and direction. Nepotism and preferential treatment is rampant regardless of qualification and performance.

EFCO Needs Work

Pros

Relaxed work environment. Friendly co-workers. Good location for employees to commute. Facilities are OK.

Cons

Incompetent upper management. Benefits are mediocre. Average salaries. Low respect for employees. People are appointed to management positions based on length of time with the company and not actual qualifications. Managers don't "manage" employees, but force the company to change policies for everyone. Decisions are made solely on the fact that that is what the CEO wishes to do, regardless of how much business sense it actually makes. Logic is not an everyday common occurrence with managers. No stable business rules exist.
