Pros
I hadn't heard of ELEXON before I joined - it's not as well known as other regulators like Ofgem and National Grid - but I'm so glad I came to work at this company. The people are really friendly and there's a real culture of openness and respect. Work life balance is also really good, as are company benefits and training opportunities.
Cons
The work that ELEXON does is complex and it does take a while to get your head around it.
Pros
Excellent training programmes over the years. Good bonuses, though better for those that were there in beginning with final salary pension Fairly good work life balance Nice office Many helpful and friendly people - it's only asset. Cons
Lack of opportunities to progress and when there are, the criteria is managed so that the desired potential internal candidate gets it. Vires not unlocked, so lack of expansion opportunities. Lack of delegation and autonomy. High turnover of staff, many left for rival companies that provide opportunities. Communication is carefully controlled. Risk adverse.
Pros
Good work life balance Generous training budget Good benefits
Cons
Staff morale is low, and turnover is high- senior management aren't addressing issues at a line manager level. Seems to be a culture of 'if your face doesn't fit, you're out'.
