Pros

Fairly easy to find and accept jobs. Schools are usually ready for you and teachers leave good notes.

Cons

Pay is far too low for what you are asked to do. Many school's student are undisciplined, argumentative, and disrespectful. Administrators never drop in to observe the class until you are fed up and call the office,

Thank you for your response. We are always in talks with legislative reps to change pay rates for schools whose pay rates have not change in a long time. We are also in talks about changing other aspects including cost for fingerprinting and also lowering the required credit hours for substitute teaching. I wanted you to know that we are working on these concerns for our employees and to ultimately assist our districts in getting more passionate people to serve.

Thank you for your feedback and review. EDUStaff does not receive any compensation from our external employees. Our districts set the pay rate per day and the employee is paid that amount without anything taken off the top. EDUStaff receives payment from the districts that we serve per contractual agreement regarding fill rates.

Substitute Teacher

Pros

Above Minimum wage pay (approx. $10/hr) No bachelors or associates degree in education needed (90+ cr hrs are required) You do get paid

Cons

Outside of being on list with their name associated it with it, they do not represent you at all! If a child or teacher simply doesn't like you they can put in a complaint and eliminate one of the venues or districts you can teach in. There is no verification of what has happened in the class room, nor do they ask questions, they simply boot you out without any possibility of returning. EDUStaff's default position is to assume that the substitute is in the wrong and probably stupid.
