I learned a lot about coding standards, teamwork, and how to build better applications. Management is supportive and listens to our ideas. The company culture is friendly and focused on learning. The best part is working with great people and seeing my work make a difference.

Pros

Joining Embark Student Corp as a Software Development Manager has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported by both leadership and my peers. The company truly values education and innovation, and you can see how much passion goes into helping students succeed. What stands out most is the collaborative culture—people are open to ideas, willing to share knowledge, and genuinely want to see each other succeed. Leadership encourages autonomy while also providing the guidance and resources needed to grow. As a manager, I’ve had the opportunity to not only lead talented developers but also continue developing my own skills in people leadership, technical strategy, and project delivery.

Cons

1) Fast-paced environment – exciting but may feel intense if you prefer a slower pace. 2) Lots of change as the company grows – great for adaptability and learning, but not for those who want total stability. 3) High expectations – leadership trusts you with ownership, which is motivating but can be challenging. 4) On-site collaboration days – amazing for teamwork, but not ideal if you’re looking for fully remote work. 5) Still evolving processes – because the company is growing, some processes are being built or improved along the way.
