Pros

A flat organization Structure, you can reach the higher management easily but that is of no use as they only hear and not react No fun activities/events only work, work and work (Good if you want to work as slaves) Nobody wants to join them, so they make others do extra work(Good if you want to work). Master of all trades is expected **Beware of the fake reviews given on Glassdoor

Cons

**Beware of the fake reviews given on Glassdoor 1) 10% salaries were cut for 4 months under the name of Covid but actually they don't have any mo 2) German people are given more benefits like work for 1 day and take 70-80% of salary under some German govt. rule 3) Indian people are asked to overworked to compensate point no. 2 4) No Bonus / No variable pay 5) Appraisal are skipped 6) No planning or clarity of future of the company 7) Many people are leaving so they are hiring nothing else

Thank you for taking the time to write Embold a review on Glassdoor. It is important for us to hear about what we’re doing well and what we can improve upon.
We’re not used to our team members being unhappy and make sure employee satisfaction is at the forefront of our values. We are not happy that your experience working with us has been unsatisfactory and that means in your case we have failed somewhere across the line. We not only hear out all team members’ feedback and concerns, but make sure we have active conversations within our teams and get them a satisfactory resolution or improve upon areas. We urge all of our employees to speak to us freely, and truly wish you had reached out so we could have had an open conversation with you and resolved your issues timely. We do our work and value work commitments strongly, but we also like to take breaks, have fun and celebrate with the Embold family. As a growing startup, the balance may have been not perfect at all times, but we are making sure to engage team members more, even when with working remotely. As a startup, oftentimes employees are asked to step into another role if there is a temporary gap. This happen across the entire company and not just in one department. We understand that this may not be ideal but we work hard and fast to fill all our gaps so no team member is overburdened, these strategic hiring decisions are also based on our quarterly and yearly product plans. We do not expect our team members to be good at everything. We thrive on being a company that promotes growth and learning and encourages team members in areas they want to explore.
Covid has impacted companies the world over. We wanted to retain our entire team yet wanted them to be the least impacted, hence the top management took the most salary cuts and made sure the team was the least impacted for a short period of time. As for the German team, it was not paid salaries to not work by Embold. Germany has a Government rule called “Kurzarbeit” which can be undertaken by a company during a stressful period wherein the employees work lesser hours for very less pay, and the German Government pays employees facing such a situation some allowance as they are taxpayers working less hours for very less pay.
We do realise our India team was overburdened during the Covid period and made sure to reward this during our appraisals last year that we did during the Covid 19 pandemic. We also added an end to end 360 degree appraisal where an internal audit was taken of employees’ wellbeing and market standards for salaries were matched or exceeded. The variable component is paid and if there are any concerns with respect to the same they are always answered with satisfaction. Plans and budgets are made regularly, board meetings happen monthly and we are as transparent as can be to our team during the monthly townhalls with the plans and progress on all fronts.
We are not aware of any fake reviews and don’t ever ask anyone specifically to write these for any reason whatsoever. Again, we’re sorry you’ve had this experience and would be open to talking more about this offline. -Heena Chaudhari Strategy, Operations & HR Manager

Thank you for sharing your experience, we strive hard to maintain our open culture, are happy to listen to and work on the teams' concerns and have made sure our highly skilled team is compensated well. Great feedback! We have a team that continually reviews our benefits package, so we can make sure everyone on the team is happy, and we're getting the best package for our team, but it's hard, considering healthcare costs for seniors. We also were able to provide a group offer for the team on raising this concern, if they were interested. Rest assured, we're working towards getting to the point where we can offer this benefit to the team, on us :) - Allison Ember COO

Pros

1. You will always get to work on something new and challenging. 2. Flat hierarchy.

Cons

1. This company do not care about their employees. The pretend many times but honestly they just don’t care , at all 2. They expect “Yes Sir ” mentality . Seniors will always dominate juniors to complete work , even though they know , their team is overloaded . 3. You will not be evaluated on your talent but by your yesmanship quality . 4. Increment gets delayed or skipped entirely . Bonus component is laughable as it depends upon company’s and individual’ performance. 5. You will only work, work and work. There is nothing else for you. Because that’s why they have hired you ,to work like a slave. They think if they throw money at people , they don’t have to do anything else.

We thank you for sharing your experience and are sorry we let you down, we always strive to improve and feedback like this drives us to do so. While we can’t promise to be perfect in all aspects, we do promise that we’re open to feedback and want to work with our team members to continuously improve the employee experience.
We work hard to maintain a flat hierarchy and have one of the most technologically rich products to offer, thank you for pointing these out. With respect to the other points, we’re sorry there have been some misunderstandings. First and foremost, we do have our work to do, but that is not the only thing we hire people for, we thrive on our open culture and love to take breaks from time to time. We make sure to celebrate all our milestones and have fun from time to time, remote working has made this tougher, but we make it a point to bring the team together at regular intervals. We always put our team first and employee satisfaction is one of our main goals. We work hard to keep our processes transparent and make sure any concerns or complaints are resolved as quickly as possible. It is very easy to reach out to anyone on the team no matter their geographical location and we’re sorry to know that you were not comfortable reaching out to us during your time here. As a growing startup, Embold will experience some growing pains, although we are making sure that no employee is affected by this. As for the variable component, it is based on individuals and company performance, as is for most companies, and this component is explained to each candidate during the offer process. All our employees are evaluated solely on their talent, proactiveness and performance. All in, we’re sorry we let you down, we wish you had opened up to us so we could have made sure your concerns are resolved timely. We’re still open if you want to speak further offline. Rest assured, we will do an internal audit and make sure no one at Embold shares your experience. -Allison Ember COO
