Pros

7-Eleven definition of showing initiative is being a 100% 'Yes Man". If you are one and like to tell people what they want to hear, and not need to hear, you will go far in this company. Lots of flexibility. Set your own schedule. Able to make decisions that directly effect business. You work on your own with very little field interaction with superiors, however emails are constant. Good benefits, vacation and company car/gas card with personal use allowed.

Cons

The "yes man" thing gets old after awhile especially after you see program after program fail or not come close to the hype it was said to have had. It would be nice to be able to share your ideas or be honest with your opinions without being perceived as 'not a team player'. Employee moral is very, very low due to this. Very negative costumer reviews online with low loyalty. Guest shop because it's in a good location, not because it says 7-Eleven on the sign. Almost impossible to move up unless your willing to move to Dallas. Complete lack of accountability, follow thru and recognition. Company moves on the the next thing very quickly and does not look back to see if the first thing was successful or not. Company makes up the appraisal process as they go. It's now the middle of July and they still have not laid out what the metrics are for the end of year review for 2014 yet. Middle and upper management do not have an understanding of what it takes to run a convenience store business and many priorities are a waste of time and hurt the bottom line due to the extra work/labor needed to accomplish. I have got several 5+ friends jobs at 7-Eleven and all have quit within a year citing that middle and upper management is too hypocritical and unrealistic about store operations.

Pros

good work value and environment friendly

Cons

The manager would call my phone at 3 am to tell me to unload a truck full of drinks alone, constantly, even though it was never mentioned or docked as pay.

Pros

Steady hours, free drinks, meet an assortment of people, repetitive customers that you get to know and like

Cons

Low pay, bad benefits, and mostly working by yourself unless you're first shift, and then only on weekdays.
