Pros
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at 89up. The leadership, particularly Mike and my line manager Luke, created an environment where I felt valued and supported. They invested in my growth by providing opportunities to expand my skills and take on some challenging projects, especially as a junior in the field. This is something I valued a lot.
I had the chance to work on an incredibly diverse portfolio of projects that kept my work interesting and engaging. I felt like I worked in an environment in which we understood each other and the tasks at hand without issues.
What stood out most was how they encouraged my professional development. I had the chance to work on diverse projects that kept my work interesting and engaging, while also broadening my portfolio and expertise.
The variety of clients I was exposed to was exceptional. One week I might be designing video assets for a small charity, and the next I'd be working with a large established brand requiring a completely different approach.
Cons
While the variety of projects was beneficial, I sometimes wasn't involved in projects from start to finish, which occasionally made it challenging to see the complete impact of my work.
The workload could be unpredictable at times, with some periods being extremely busy while others were quieter but that is also the nature of agency work.
