Pros

the mission is very altruistic and needed. The benefits were great. I loved the CEO. He has a kind soul and genuinely cares about the mission and the people.

Cons

This is just a statement for instructional designers. They have no idea what or how to use them. They laid my entire team of 3 off after separating the design and development team from the evaluations team. Everyone in the instructional design industry knows that evaluation is an essential part of the ID process, so this move made no sense. Now, they're requiring current program managers to upskill in instructional design. It makes no sense to let somebody go that you've already invested 15k in tuition reimbursement for that very skill. For 5yrs they kept saying they wanted more technology in the learning they delivered and for 5yrs we were locked out of the LMS and they refused to invest in any technology nor allow it in their programs. they even suspended the use of the AI video generator we were using. They said it's a 35hr work week but you're basically pulling doctors hours and are on call 24/7. Go ahead and take vacation but you'll be pinged and emailed and needed to address issues that come up while on that vacation. Or we'll make you feel guilty for taking time off. They said they'd give "12 weeks of regular pay" as a severance and I've only received 10 (5 paychecks) and none of them are my regular pay - significantly lower, in fact. Payroll and HR are told not to respond to any of the people who were laid off.
