Pros
- New company in all aspects, so you can directly impact workflows and deliveries
- Prepaid health insurance
- Full employee benefits (retirement, healthcare, severance, severance premiums for colombian law workers)
Cons
- There is no political governance (this is were all problems come from)
- That being said, all the layoffs and the lack of management come from the fact that people at the company cannot make any decisions (for a whole year, not a single person was hired because other company in the holding had no idea of what abatech does, and actually, does not care)
- you might be getting in, doing nothing, and then great people like the CTO and CEO won't be able to do nothing as well because other company got the power in hands and simply won't care about work culture or work progress in other places of the world (they won't try to empathize with you or your work or your CTO for that matter. They should, after all; they are all 'Field Expert PhDs', but it seems only for the technical part. The human part seems to have escaped them after their titles or something.)
- Anyways, enjoyed the fast paced environments and developing the product while we were directly managed by the CTO who did a great job and continues to do so even hand and feet tied as of late.
