Pros
The poor reviews for this company come from insatiable leeches who couldn't be happy with a winning lottery ticket and who think the small task of rolling up the hose after washing your ambo is optional (if they ever did wash their ambo).
- Small company. Your hard work / contributions get noticed and are appreciated by management. Also, your lack of hard work and your bad habits get noticed (so don't apply if mom forgot to teach you work ethic).
- Trust. Management gives you a lot of independence to get your job done and to do it well on your own.
- Knowledgeable supervisors. They have a passion for teaching and are accessible.
- ABC Ambo has impressive statistics that prove it runs an efficient ambulance service (honoring the hard-working tax payer by billing Medicaid efficiently).
- Customer service centric. The company works hard to incorporate positive customer service in each call and in interactions with facilities. Good reputation.
- Competitive hourly pay for EMTs, plenty of opportunity for overtime, great place for a first EMT job, good people.
The company has been flexible when things come up in my life and I need to make changes in my schedule. The managers and coworkers are people I am happy to work for and am happy to know.
Cons
- Psych calls demand a unique mental stamina.
- No 24hr shift.
- No continued education classes at the moment.
- Limited range of skills used from certs due to nature of calls taken (not 911).
