Do not be deceived - Management ACT Employee Review

Let me start by saying that this once was an excellent company to work for. Highly respected in the community and industry. Now it is quickly becoming a case study in failed leadership. The new C-suite members have taken a vibrant culture of honest debate and discussion and changed it into a culture of "yes". You either agree with them or you soon find yourself on the outside looking in. Most of the leadership team with a backbone who were willing to ask questions and raise concerns about various strategic acquisitions have either left or been removed. What remains is a leadership culture that simply nods their heads in agreement in the meeting and then discusses the insanity of decisions in the halls. It is clearly discussed across all levels that strategic decisions are simply a series of disconnected pet projects from the CEO and CCO whose lack of business acumen is astounding. It would be a little more comforting if some rhyme or reason could be seen rather than a seemingly desperate attempt to distract from dismal financial results. However, I will admit they are up to speed on the latest management trends and buzzwords. Which leads to my next con. Actual work is not actually respected or rewarded. Rather the number of conferences attended (must include the obligatory selfie from the said conference), panel discussions one participates on, and blog posts made are seen as the ultimate measure of performance. Which if you are OK not contributing to actual results may be a Pro instead of a Con. Perhaps the mission should be changed... From: "At ACT, our mission is to help people achieve education and workplace success.". To: "At ACT our mission is to spend large sums of money to travel to nice places to talk about helping people achieve education and workplace success. Note: Mission does not apply to our own employees."
