Pros
I've been working for AECOM for over 10 years. The first 6 were good. Managers were supportive and you felt appreciated. I have to say that the people I work with are great and it's the one thing keeping me at AECOM. More recently the amount of additional annual leave you can 'buy back' has been increased meaning that you could potentially take 35 days a year + public holidays. The people at the very top of the company have the right ideas and attitudes.
Cons
In the last 3 years the management culture of AECOM UK is to tell employees what the want to hear, rather than the truth. Don't expect any career development / progression unless you go out drinking and watching sports with the right managers - if you don't fit in to the 'gang' your will be made to feel like an outsider. Everything is blamed on the economy and you are told there will be no promotions each year and this then turns out not to be the case. The appraisal system has changed and is worthless. You will be lucky if you get any feedback - positive or negative in your annual appraisal. Interim appraisals are generally avoided by managers if they can help it so that they can avoid having to help you achieve your development objectives.
