Pros
People you work with and gym members really do become family but it's a family built under duress
Cons
Owned by one guy and now run by his drinking buddy because he has no interest in anything to do with the company except money. He pays the lowest salaries and hourly pay. No support to management and likes to go through and just fire people instead of proper training. Micro managing and cuts to staff but staff pays all the extra costs of uniforms, and having to do training without pay, no discounts on anything except a membership that cost the owner absolutely nothing. Regularly breaks federal employment laws and then blames it on the under educated and inexperienced general managers he's hired. Gives no raises, EVER, unless you're a group class teacher. There's been 5 years of "frozen" pay in just the Williamsburg location alone but has decided to start new people at a little bit higher earning and then have the lower paid, $8 hr people train them. Try dealing with that kind of unhappiness among employees
