Pros
Benefits are nice, especially for those without spouses or children. Lots of PTO and 401k matching up to 5%.
Cons
The company appears to be trimming down. After a couple rounds of layoffs, morale dropped significantly and employees are starting to leave on their own. Having a large bank of PTO is nice, but not if you can't get approved to use it.
Pay is lower than other comparable jobs. Negotiation is not very welcomed.
There is very little room for advancement within the lab. The gap between management and bench-level employees is growing and the nature of lab work requires decreasingly less critical thinking skills.
