Pros
If you enjoy doing not only your job but everyone else's then ALS is for you! Enjoy exceeding all goals and expectations only to have your sales manager take credit? How bout having coworker's and the sales manager steal your customers? Like doing everyone's job on top of yours? Then ALS is the perfect hell hole for you.
Cons
The parent company (ALS) bought CORPRO at the height of the market and now they are dealing with a down turn in the industry. Problem is ALS is COMPLETELY NEW to the upstream oil and gas industry. They think the hub of the drilling industry resides in Australia and they are trying to run the business like they do in open pit mines in Australia (different business model). Frankly, I'd stay away from ALS CORPRO (and ALS). Everything here is short term, don't be fooled, this is not a place for a career; hired today laid off tomorrow, hire and fire, hire and fire. This is just a place to collect a quick paycheck, nothing more! There is ZERO investment in equipment or personnel. Never think this is a career, even in the best of times, everything is short term. There is little training given to personnel and at times they'll put you in dangerous situations in the field. And if there is a down turn in the economy, their first thought is ALWAYS to CUT CUT CUT critical staff and put the remaining duties onto the remaining critical staff. I was doing the work of 4 other staff that have been cut. Management is completely out of touch with reality. They hire people with zero experience and let them run the show. Worst job ever. The equipment and tools are nothing more than first generation equipment that they acquired when they purchased the original company Dowdco years ago. All of their "specialty" tools are outdated and subpar. When ALS purchased the group, they had a majority of the market share and as of today due to price gouging, inexperienced field staff, outdated and inferior tools and management that has zero oilfield experience or knowledge, they've lost all of their market share and are being dominated by a market of mom and pop competitors
