Pros
The best part of working for the company is being close to such iconic pop culture. As one of the last small media companies, there's a lot of involvement at every level into the creating and execution of company content. I also worked with many kind, smart, talented people at the company from whom I learned a great deal.
Cons
My experience with the company was filled with micromanagement, poor department communication, toxicity, crazy workloads and burnout, and little to no development or growth. Our department saw high turnover (also an issue with the company as a whole) and instead of replacing people who left, I absorbed about 3 people's jobs over my time there. I know this isn't uncommon, but it doesn't make it OK. Especially when there isn't any sort of acknowledgement of taking on this extra work and it's treated as a given or that you should be grateful for the opportunity. I heard that phrase a lot during my time there.
