You will always have a lot of responsibility and more work than you can handle, so it helps the day go by fast! Never a dull day here. Upper management does not micro-manage and allows business managers to make business decisions, although they are very strict and sometimes stifling in the resources they allow. Cons
Businesses are often looked at to be in "harvest mode" and it is difficult to get management to invest in needed resources. It can be frustrating when you see so many deficiencies and areas that need improvement but no budget or resources to do so. There is no lack of cash available though and projects that have a 1.5 year payback or better are easily funded. Management is willing to invest in new product development as well. Also, turnover is relatively high and management does not hesitate to make layoffs if businesses have a prolonged period of slowdown.
