Pros

Challenging work which has enabled me to grow my career far quicker compared to other firms I’ve worked at. Supportive colleagues and management. It is so refreshing to have a team and managers who actually care about my development and want me to succeed. Great people, there are some amazing and talented people in the audit department and we get on well. Clear goals and objectives which makes it easy to understand what you need to achieve to become a better auditor. Competitive salary and a bonus scheme which was not something I’d had before. Free breakfast which helps when I’m bare hungry.

Cons

The office could be a little better, the facilities are ok but location wise it is hard to get to for me on public transport. Expense policy is a little mean and rates are low for evening meals. Every workplace has bits that are pony but there were no standout issues here compared to other places I’ve worked.

Hiya, Thank you for all the comments, it is great to hear that you are enjoying working with and learning from the people you have in your team. You have a really exciting future as part of our ever expanding Audit Team and we are really glad to have you onboard. Glad you are making the most of the free breakfasts - most important meal of the day!! If you are talking about our Hardman St office in Spinningfields, as you know we are in the middle of a massive renovation of all 5 floors which will be complete within the next couple of months, it has required patience, which I thank you for, but I know it will be fantasic when it is completed and will really set AMS apart. The collaboration space on the ground floor with really be worth the wait. You will love it! Please send me more information about what you would expect to see from our expenses policy, we are always interested in gaining feedback and open to improving our policies as we have done with several others recently based on employee feedback (Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Shared leave and Sickness and Absence) Currently employees can claim £10 for lunch and £20 for an evening meal or £25 in London, but feel free to send me what you think this should be and we can discuss options. I really appreciate you taking the time to feedback, anything else you want to talk about don't hesitate to come and see me. Thanks Kate

Pros

I'm fortunate enough to work across much of the group and am able to work alongside and collaborate with the many amazing people employed at AMS. People are enthusiastic about their roles and enjoy helping AMS Group strive towards it's high growth goals. You will love AMS if you are a team player, are creative and enjoy a challenge. The remuneration is good. The culture is good. The HR team are really friendly and supportive.

Cons

The open plan layout at head office can be noisy and there are only a limited meeting rooms.

Pros

Nothing good to say about this place. I tried to be fair but anything positive is massively outweighed by the negatives. It’s genuinely not worth it.

Cons

Incredibly toxic culture and very uncomfortable to be around. It is really bad. This place seems to be genuinely falling apart behind the scenes. Progression seems to depend on relationships rather than performance. Given way too much responsibility way above your pay grade, you will receive no recognition for it. Work life balance is completely non existent. Overworked and undervalued. Management behaviour can be very strange, and at times, concerning (if only I could go into detail here). I would recommend never to work here. from my experience, the positive reviews don't reflect the day to day reality for many employees. This is a heavily filtered list of cons, the reality is far worse. The culture often feels toxic, unkind and cliquey, where employees feel talked about and laughed at rather than supported. If you want to feel comfortable and respected at work, and not feel anxious for simply coming in to work and doing your job, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere, and stay far far away. Nothing will improve here until the people causing the problems take accountability. The problem is not hard to find.
