I enjoyed my time at AODocs. I met smart and friendly people, and even made a few friends. AODocs knows how to hire. I've had a lot of autonomy in my work, management let me do my work as I intended. As long as the job is done they don't question my methods. Top management is available if any problem. There is a lot of space to grow and learn. I've been able to dive into new areas, that I was interested in, learn a ton about it and become kind of a specialist on the topic in the company. It's up to you, how much you want to commit. The technology AODocs uses is modern: cloud computing on GCP, machine learning and AI.... Work / life balance is good. After a certain time in the company I was free to have my own schedule. Going to the office on a daily basis but no problem and no questions asked whenever I wanted to work from home. We've had a few team building events that were a great success. Also, there is a multicultural European American environment which I really liked. In terms of benefits, the health care is good and 18 days a year of PTOs. Stock options can be available to certain employees.

I had one episode of micro management with a very intrusive manager. But that didn't fit with the team and the manager quit after a while.

Smart colleagues who are nice to work with and want to help. Some are real gems -- you know who you are!

Very disorganized. No training, minimal onboarding. No career path. You will be thrown into projects that are over your head and you'll get zero support when you ask for help. In fact, they'll eventually give your projects to someone who is even less qualified, but cheaper. Many people go years without a raise of any kind. In effect, you'll make less money each year because you can't even keep up with inflation. I saw multiple fantastic colleagues laid off for no good reason; the only rationale offered was "we are going in a different direction." What direction is that, exactly, and why must that involve getting rid of existing employees who are perfectly capable? Layoffs are done without respect and without notice; they will sneak around and have others ask for access to your materials under the guise of "shadowing." This is especially insulting because when I started there, I overheard M. complaining when an employee quit with short notice: "Why can't we just talk like adults if someone is unhappy here?" After they grab whatever they can from your files, you'll see the "catch up" calendar invite. You're not gonna catch up; your account will be deactivated by the time you leave the meeting. If you're lucky, you'll get a month's severance at best. No investment in the tools employees need to do their jobs. Projects are "managed" in dozens of spreadsheets and docs. When you're new and before you know better, they will ask you to write nice reviews on sites such as this one in an attempt to counteract the negative reviews.
