Pros

Really smart engineering and sales professionals. The current sales manager has a lot of patience and is a great resource. You also get your own office.

Cons

Sales cycles are long and you might not get to travel much initially besides trade shows. Your customers will largely be whomever the more senior sales people can spare you. Lots of time spent estimating projects in spreadsheets for a sales role.

Pros

Profit sharing and good colleagues to work with. Owner of company encourages employees to do good work by buying lunches, having good benefits and taking summer trips.

Pros

The product they make at this company is what really attracted me to work here. The crew is fantastic. You get a Rolex after 10 years. You get stock after 5 years. Bonuses.

Cons

One of the worst managed companies I have ever seen. The owner and VP of the company have no idea how to run a business. From company policy always changing because it isn't written down, to reviews without raises, Micro-managing and wanting to make an example out of someone solely for the purpose of "keeping" the employees in line. Constantly looking to write someone up if there is no work. Expecting employees to do maintenance work, i.e. pouring concrete, fixing roofs, drywall removal and repair, plumbing, etc., when their job is fabrication or assembly. Too cheap to have a maintenance budget and waiting until things break and then blaming the employees for the issues instead of their own decisions. Salaried employees are treated no differently than hourly employees. They don't get paid based on hours worked, but on daily hours. No bereavement pay for hourly employees. No sick days for hourly employees. Only 2 weeks PTO. The stocks are not sold upon retiring or leaving, There is a formula that equates how much you get. It is kind of cheap. Medical insurance is lame, as an employee it is affordable, however, if you have a family, it is expensive. IT is private insurance carried by the owner and the employees are on his plan. Most things are not covered. If you are an assembler you must travel the globe to install the machines, however, they do not give you a company card, instead you have to use your own money and get re-imbursed. The VP refuses to pay the travel expenses for the employee if they are sitting in an airport for a layover. Only for the actual flying time. No tuition re-imbursement, no better PTO options for salary, The shop is disorganized, no proper stock room, metal kept outside in the elements to rust. No A/C and no heat in the shop areas.
