Pros

One of the best companies I've worked for in my 25-year career. The work/life balance has been fantastic, my managers empower and support me, and the people are just nice. The compensation is quite competitive and the benefits are solid. It's a great culture. I highly recommend ATC as an employer. The electric industry is in the midst of a rapid transition and ATC has a critical and interesting role to play. I believe this is gives employees more opportunities to learn, grow and contribute. The new tools and technologies we’re employing to maintain the reliability of the electric grid during the renewable energy transition are really intriguing. One of ATC's values is "we care" and I've seen this consistently in the way employees and the company gives back. We donate trees to Wisconsin schools through the Trees for Threes program with the Milwaukee Bucks, give grants to communities to plant trees and create pollinator habitat, and support of STEM education in schools. We also match employee donations - something pretty rare (according a professional fundraising friend).

Cons

I don't view this as a con, but like many other companies, ATC is working to improve diversity, equity and inclusion within the company. Executive leadership is supportive and engaged in the effort. It's a journey and one I'm glad to see ATC is focused on.

Pros

Decent benefits and pay. Pretty good time off benefits and sick time. Flexible work schedule and hybrid/remote work available. Everyone is very professional and willing to help each other reach a goal for the betterment of the company. Many employee/office gatherings/lunches to bring people together even while most work hybrid/remote. Clean and nice facilities at all four offices. The company is rapidly expanding and seeing substantial growth over the next ten years

Cons

It’s a regulated utility. Health care premiums are higher, as well as out-of-pocket maxes. A lot of people are overloaded with work due to the substantial growth. The company has hired a lot of new employees to help with this, but there isn’t very good onboarding training for the company processes. Many processes are in a state of flux and continue to change because of the rapid growth. This can cause confusion for new employees.
