Pros

Some genuinely good people and students. I was fortunate to have one very supportive manager who made the experience manageable and truly cared about the work being done.

Cons

Extremely political environment with clear favoritism and “group-style” dynamics in certain departments, especially HR. Professionalism and merit do not always seem to be the deciding factors in decision-making. Communication and process management can be very poor, and career growth opportunities are limited unless you are closely aligned internally. Administrative departments are also expected to deliver results with very limited budgets and resources, making it difficult to perform effectively or create real impact.

Pros

good to deal with local people. They are nice.

Cons

University Provost, Dean and middle management are the worst. The HR department is useless, have no empathy and cut salaries without any basis. It is commonplace to cut your salary soon after you join. The worst place to work is if you are coming to earn money in this part of the world.
