Pros

Some coworkers genuinely cared about clients, but that’s about it.

Cons

Accra Home Care in Minnetonka was hands down the worst employer I’ve ever worked for. The workload was completely unrealistic. We were constantly overworked and underpaid, and the staff turnover was so bad that every time someone quit, the rest of us had our caseloads multiplied overnight. At times it felt like we were doing the work of ten people just to keep things afloat. Things got even worse after the company was bought out and stopped being a nonprofit. The focus shifted away from clients and employees and went straight to profit. Support declined, communication tanked, and overall morale crashed hard. It felt like the company was crumbling from the inside out and no one in leadership cared to fix it.

Hands on, customer service focus, passionate team, diverse experiences, self-driven position with flexibility, nice weekday schedule and time off benefits

Cons

High paced, technology can be a struggle, a lot to learn.

Pros

Paid on time, flexible schedule, online training and no prior experience needed but needs in person training as well.

Cons

In my case, my clients RP is my supervisor. I had no other points of contact, no place to make reports, and no one else to help manage the entire situation where the RP completely controls my hours. I couldn’t make a report of anything concerning if I wanted to because the RP is completely in control and I couldn’t risk my hours or I wouldn’t be able to pay my bills. Very little training where training was definitely required for client who was a minor, who’s wants are pushed aside for the RPs because the client can’t vocalize them. There’s very little in the companies training for minors and very less for my clients condition. I was given more responsibilities then I should have for my pay, including almost all of my clients RPs housework. Also only a dollar more for respite care over personal care is ridiculous and you need to do better.
