Pros
Job itself is not that difficult Minimal micro managing from direct supervisors Depending on assignment, can have lots of free time Weekly pay
Cons
Almost no accountability for poor performance Management completely apathetic - unable to get necessary information to improve machine performance, unable to get parts within a reasonable time frame, unable to get feedback on almost any request. Lame duck union - More interested in appeasing the company than fighting for its members Work schedule is asinine - every 7 weeks, you work 7 days straight but over two pay periods so you don't get overtime pay. All vacation is required to be scheduled at the start of the year No sick days - given 2 personal holidays in lieu of sick days that are also required to be scheduled at the start of the year Shifts treated vastly different in terms of support, access to information, in shift perks such as meal tickets. Interpersonal conflicts between Maintenance management and production leaves techs in limbo.
