Pros
Very supportive environment, weekly supervision meetings, shortened work schedules in the summer, generous vacation days. This was the first job I had that insisted I leave on time each day to ensure a proper work-life balance. There were frequent trainings to ensure case managers felt comfortable and knowledgeable. Overall, for someone wanting to gain experience in case management and social work, this is a great place to start.
Cons
For this area, the pay is very low. Even for those with advanced degrees, there is little room to grow one's salary. There is an extremely high turnover rate, most likely due to the low salaries. This is a shame, because what clients need is stability with their case management. The work itself can be emotionally difficult.
