Pros

* Good work/life balance * Some talented colleagues at the mid and junior levels * Interesting technical challenges in the early days

Cons

* Severe financial mismanagement leading to unpaid pension contributions since August 2024 * Consistently late salary payments since September 2024 with no advance warning * Leadership deliberately withheld critical information about the company's financial status * 50% job cuts announced in early 2025 * Failure to deliver promised redundancy payments and holiday rebates on time * Rigid, hierarchical management structure that stifled innovation * Top-heavy organisation with excessive management layers with preference to former-military leadership What began as a promising career opportunity devolved into a professionally damaging experience due to leadership failures. The company's financial struggles were poorly managed, but the truly unacceptable aspect was the deliberate choice to keep employees in the dark about missed pension payments and impending salary delays. This lack of transparency forced staff into precarious personal financial situations with no opportunity to prepare. Rather than being upfront about challenges and allowing employees to make informed decisions about their futures, management chose to string along staff with empty promises of imminent resolution. The subsequent layoffs and continued payment issues only confirmed what had become apparent: the leadership team prioritised self-preservation over their legal and ethical obligations to employees. To any potential applicants: I strongly advise against joining this organization unless there is concrete evidence of complete leadership turnover and fundamental changes to financial management and communication practices. The damage done to employees' financial well-being, professional development, and trust cannot be overstated.

Pros

It's rare to work at a company where you get to push the boundaries of AI technology (across the whole stack) and see it make a tangible difference in real world use cases. Adarga is one of those rare companies. The tech stack is cutting edge. We're not just applying off-the-shelf models, we're building novel AI solutions that solve genuinely hard problems for our users. If you're someone who gets excited by technical depth, you won't be disappointed. Our national security mission gives the work a sense of purpose that's hard to find elsewhere. Our customers are some of the most impressive, driven people I've worked with. I got into this field to solve hard problems for people and the challenges we see are some of the most motivating I think you can find. There's a real sense that what you're building matters and is being used by people who need it most. And then there's our team. I've worked at a few tech companies and the calibre of people here is something v special indeed. Collaborative, sharp, supportive, and always motivating each other to do better work. A shared drive to solve hard problems together. Leadership is inspiring, transparent and genuinely cares about the people and the product given many of them came from a military background. I am also excited about our growth in the US and the opportunities that will bring.

Cons

Like any scale-up working in a complex, challenging domain, things move fast and priorities can shift, but that's part of what keeps things interesting.

Pros

The team is intelligent, personable, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. Conversations often involve interesting questions and thoughtful discussion, which creates a fun, engaging and welcoming environment. The organisation is strongly mission-driven, and the work has clear real-world consequences and outcomes. That sense of purpose is a powerful motivator and a big reason people stay engaged. The recent change in direction for the business has opened up real opportunities to rethink “the way we do things.” There’s space for critical thinking and creativity, and individuals can make a genuinely large impact. The new London facilities are excellent. The location is convenient with easy travel links, and the building offers great perks like complimentary bike servicing and a free gym.

Cons

The pace can be intense. With ongoing reviews of processes, systems, and workflows, there’s a lot to tackle. Most of the work is meaningful and impactful, which is positive, but it can make things feel quite full-on at times. The organisation is still going through some “forming and storming” before everything settles into a smoother rhythm, and that can occasionally lead to friction or differing viewpoints.
