Pros

Both locations are great – Midtown Houston & The Woodlands. There are plenty of great people here, and you'll probably make some good friends. Plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance around the office. The health insurance isn't horrible, and it's 100% covered by the company. There are a few events held throughout the year that are fun (until people start getting wasted). You'll get the opportunity to work with some major tech brands that'll make your resume look great!

Cons

Get ready to fight for position! Those that have been there for years aren't the most welcoming of newcomers – you'll have to prove yourself worthy before you can be trusted to handle anything more than busywork. The workflow is a nightmare – everything is handled via 70+ emails (not exaggerating) per day, PDFs, and mountains of paper printouts. With no real project management system, you'll have several projects fall through the cracks. The best part is – they're in no hurry to change, so don't bother suggesting. If you don't hop on board with their antiquated processes, you'll quickly drown.

Thank you for your feedback. At Adcetera, we work really hard to welcome all new employees. We have a welcome lunch with our President and COO for all new employees, we have excellent training processes across departments, and as each new employee is familiarized with our clients, work, and processes, they are given opportunities to excel. Adcetera does have an excellent project management system and CRM used by over 3,000 agencies and Fortune 500 marketing departments. As with most companies, there are a lot of emails and printouts, but communication and details are very important to the way we operate. Where the national average of paid time off for employees of 1-5 years is 10 days, we have a generous paid time off policy of 20-25 days depending on tenure. While these days are used for any reason employees are out of the office, we find this model to be the best for our employees. At Adcetera we are open to suggestions and welcome specific, direct feedback on a one-to-one basis, and since you are a current employee you know our door is always open. We absolutely are open to new ideas; collaboration is what helps us succeed.

Pros

• Exposure to a wide variety of work assignments and client-facing projects • Occasional office celebrations and events throughout the year • Some genuinely supportive and collaborative coworkers • Opportunity for professional growth, especially in client management and communication

Cons

• Minimal diversity across the office • High employee turnover (average tenure around 2–3 years) • Open cubicle layout contributes to a culture of micromanagement • Very limited flexibility in scheduling and difficulty using PTO • Unspoken expectation to work beyond scheduled hours to meet unrealistic project deadlines • Poor cross-team collaboration and frequent miscommunication between managers • During slower seasons, employees are often given busywork to appear productive for upper management

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we respect your opinion, we would like to clarify a few important points. We are proud of the diversity within our team. We live in the most diverse city in the country and our staffing directly reflects that diversity. As a woman-owned agency with a 40-year history of diverse hiring, our employees come from a wide range of backgrounds, and we strongly value inclusivity throughout the agency. Additionally, our employee retention is exceptional, with an average tenure of 9 ½ years and 90% of our senior leadership has been promoted within — most of any voluntary turnover is the result of employees or their spouses moving out of the Houston area. We also want to emphasize that micromanagement is not part of our culture. Our open office layout is designed to encourage collaboration and communication, and our leadership team places a high level of trust with our employees to manage their work independently. We are careful to set realistic project deadlines and expectations, and we prioritize strong collaboration and clear communication across all departments. We are a fully integrated agency, and again our 40 years of success is a great indicator of open collaboration and effective teamwork. We are very proud of our benefits and compensation and strive to be an industry leader with a generous compensation, bonus, PTO, healthcare and 401K package. Regarding, work from home, we have been transitioning away from this working environment, as we work best when we are collaborating together. We also grow faster and enjoy each other more when we work together. For potential employees looking to work from home, our agency will not be a good fit. We like each other and enjoy being around each other. We appreciate your suggestions and remain committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and rewarding workplace for everyone.
