Pros
Adept Group is one of the better agencies in Tokyo. Work life balance is good, the candidate ownership system is fair compared to others, and the management is pretty lenient. If you're the go getter type and can handle working independently with little supervision, you will thrive. If you need help with living in Japan, the company is helpful with administrative and daily life issues also. Also working in IT, you will learn a lot about the industry, products, and meet a lot of relevant people. This is a good resource if you plan on changing careers in the future. Compensation is fair compared to other agencies for the support you get from the company.
Cons
Lack of upper mobility. Once you hit the top salary cap, that is pretty much it (to be fair, its on par with other recruitment agencies in Japan.) If you're new to sales or recruitment, there isn't much "training" or guidance. Sink or swim environment. Along with lack of upper mobility, not much support for long term residents. No 401K, retirement plan, etc. You're on your own if you plan on living in Japan long term. The compensation system feels as if its only for short term stay people. Work from home option would be good with software like Microsoft Teams and Slack.
