Pros
Several excellent surgical subspecialties available. Many friendly and appreciative staff and patients who value good rural healthcare close to home.
Cons
In several exemplary surgical subspecialties, senior and middle management allowed a hostile work environment, and subsequently lost well-respected career team members including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and medical assistants, while preserving new physicians and physician assistants who are less qualified, rude, racist, demeaning and condescending to staff, colleagues and patients alike. HR and the C-Suite could only kowtow to an administrative team that (financially) had no good option but to preserve subspecialty divisions and service lines that were created by the very people who were being subjected to the hostile work environments.
