Morally bankrupt leader and practice - Part II Architectural Assistant Adjaye Associates Employee Review

Thanks to my team, I personally didn’t experience exploitation and being overworked. My pay was ok for my position and experience and I didn’t work long hours. However, I had colleagues telling me that when they calculated their actual pay when accounting for their overtime, their hourly rate turned out to be less than minimum wage. At the end of the day, you are working for the name of Sir David, who doesn’t care about his employees on a personal level in the slightest. I worked there when he was accused of sexual misconduct by the Financial Times. Consensual or not, having relationships with employees is unacceptable, end of story. The consequences suffered by his employees as a result of his actions - yes - his actions - and not a result of the media, were outrageous. Dozens of people lost their jobs and were materially impacted by his choice to have relationships with his employees, and they were the ones doing all the work he takes full credit for while he jet sets and gives generic and uninspired talks and interviews. The redundancy process was unfair, packages minimal, while David played the victim and had his ego bruised. I wouldn’t recommend working here, unless you want to feel expendable and undervalued, and unless you’re dying to work on projects in Saudi Arabia. He isn’t a genius, he has a whole team of people working like dogs behind him. Morally bankrupt. The fish rots from the head.
