Pros
The pay is good, and the policy team does great work.
Cons
AEE does not support employees in any way, shape or form through leadership and the MD's. Advance Energy Economy is a predatory organization that catfished me on LinkedIn and nearly ruined my career due to the organizations lack of integrity and structure, which I did not want to be associated with my character or reputation. The board retreat is a drunk college frat party (they have security cameras, as much as the GC hates it), at a 5 star hotel. What a ridiculous waste of donor money meant to save the planet. The policy team does great work in terms of progressing clean energy policies for member companies, but I have absolutely no idea why there is a sales or marketing team, and I was on it until I resigned. They pitched it to me as a non-profit and acted as if I could get into policy work, but they use predatory sales tactics to rope in companies through misleading statements. I nearly wasted a year at AEE until I realized staying with AEE would ruin my career due to a lack of leadership. They also violated my civil rights, and invade employee privacy. Do not work for AEE. To clarify any malice in this note, I would like to address that I resigned due to poor leadership, and I was not fired. Be aware of AEE if you are being headhunted by LinkedIn recruiters, there are much more impactful jobs out there where the budget is allocated to the interests of the member companie's mission, and not a bar tab. Trust me, I am looking. Update: Advanced Energy Economy called my father asking to have this review taken down after I asked them to stop contacting me & him. Talk about predatory. My father is 71. Thank the good lord I am moving on to bigger & better things. I'm an associate employee with minimal savings, so I pray they do not use their connections & power to break my family down and sue me for telling my side of the story when it comes to my experience at Advanced Energy Economy. I'm still willing to risk it all and tell my story, however.
