Pros

The curriculum for training is interesting. Keeping patients safe during surgery is rewarding and important.

Cons

Zero work-life balance. Typically will work 8-10/hour shifts 4-5 days/week, plus being on-call the majority of the days of the month, with no overtime pay. You are expected to answer your phone 24/7, even on weekends and days you are scheduled off. Understaffed and grossly underpaid for this field. It's about $20/hour when you start and only goes up to about $25/hour when you pass your board certification.. Arkansas is ranked 2nd to last in salary for this position, and those numbers are coming almost entirely from AMS' employees. Other IOM companies in states with comparable cost of living wages pay their employees 50% more.
