Pros
In 2016, I was facing a crossroad; between staying on as an army regular with the Singapore Armed Forces and embarking on a new career altogether. It was then that my friend arranged a financial planning session with me. At that time, I was thinking, “ok la, why not? What do I have to lose?” That was my first encounter with Advisors Alliance Group (AAG). From a sales appointment, it quickly became a business opportunity for me. The rest, as they say, is history. What I love about being a financial advisor with AAG are: 1. The values that this agency embraces: Integrity, Compassion, Competence. Coming from a closely knitted family in the army, this resonates with me, right from the start. 2. The opportunity to strive in life with people who you like. At the very start, before confirming this career, I have this opportunity to see the team first, finding out whether I like the people first before joining. As I came into this career, I realise I can find the people that I love to work with! 3. The culture This culture emcompasses teamwork, abundance and service. People are willing to help each other, with abundance and service. To be in a culture of positivity, I will take it any day.
Cons
I will find that the career itself is rewarding, but comes with a lot of challenges. We have to face rejections on a daily basis. We have to overcome stigmas that was omnipresent in the industry. Other than this, the agency is expanding at a rapid rate. This is a good problem, but the quality of hires AAG made has to be higher now. Because, we cannot afford the time and effort to train individuals who are lacking in attitude and aptitude.
