Pros
- Kind and talented people. - Technologies/platforms used are popular within the current market. - Relaxed office atmosphere (pre-COVID). - Everyone across the company genuinely wants to see the platform succeed.
Cons
- No infrastructure for career development or professional training. - Too much middle management convoluted processes and were basically a shield for upper management to hide behind. - No autonomy within the ranks for people to push back on decisions. - Every decision came from stakeholders/CEOs and changed like the wind. - Changing plans last minute with unrealistic deadlines became more and more of a trend that led teams to "crunch". - Employees weren't met with or supported on a regular basis, leading people to feel isolated in their feelings and job roles. - New hires would only stick around for a few months before they moved on. - Underpaid staff, no transparency of salary bands.
