Pros

This place is toxic especially if you are a woman or POC.

Cons

The absolute worst experience of my career was working at Afterburner as a full-time employee. The CEO has no clue how arrogant and pompous he comes across when conversing with potential clients. The leadership team is so far removed from reality, it's crazy. When the pandemic hit, it got worse. They expected the sales team to pull in revenue when we had no product to sell or even a true GTM strategy. Leadership made poor decisions by letting go of marketing and salespeople in order to save their large overpaid salaries and expected the people left to patch the hole on a sinking ship.

Pros

I've seen tremendous positive change at Afterburner since the change in ownership. Leadership has brought renewed energy, stronger strategic direction, and a genuine focus on building a great company for both employees and clients. One of the most rewarding aspects of working here is the opportunity to make a real impact. We work with incredible clients across a wide range of industries, and there's a strong commitment to helping them succeed. Client success isn't just a slogan—it's a core part of how decisions are made and how teams operate. It's rewarding to see the direct value our work creates and to build lasting relationships with clients who genuinely view us as partners. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and focused on continuous improvement. Employees are encouraged to contribute ideas, take ownership, and challenge the status quo. Leadership is accessible, communication has improved significantly, and there is a clear investment in both operational excellence and employee growth. The team is made up of smart, driven people who care deeply about delivering exceptional results. If you're looking for a place where your work matters, your voice is heard, and you can grow alongside a company that is evolving and improving, Afterburner is a great place to be.

Cons

Like any growing company, there are still opportunities to refine processes and continue scaling efficiently. However, leadership has demonstrated a willingness to listen, adapt, and invest in improvements, which makes these challenges feel like opportunities rather than obstacles.

Pros

The Afterburner team has been nothing but welcoming and friendly since I've joined. I really enjoy the fact that I get to work with so many people from various backgrounds, stages in life, places in the world, etc., and it's shown that we can all work together together to achieve a common goal. The team is always pushing for better and ways to improve, which is something I really value rather than comfortability. I've been with the team for just less than a year and I can genuinely say I feel a part of something bigger everyday and I'm really proud of the work our team has put in to making sure we deliver the best experiences for our clients that we can.

Cons

Like many growing companies, there were times when things felt a little disorganized operationally. That said, the team has put a lot of effort into improving processes and creating more structure, and it's in a much better place now.
