Not much vision, strategy is hazy at best. Great salary though. - Anonymous employee Airtable Employee Review

Pros

- Really strong salary - Great health insurance - Really great HQ location, great office to work in (but I’m not required to be there every day or anything, even though living nearby) - Other great benefits like in office lunches, snacks, and health/wellness stipend ($200/month).

Cons

- Too much emphasis on RSUs, that paired with a lack of strong strategy- feel empty. - Leadership strategy is basically just ‘more AI’ - which isn’t very original these days. They’re banking on being a preferred app creation platform for LLMs… but honestly I dont know why LLMs wouldn’t just spin up their own app framework for app creation - WAY too much emphasis on dogfooding their own product (in ways that are just simply not scalable). Internal tooling is almost entirely built on Airtable which proves day after day that the platform just isn’t very scalable. But instead of making the necessary improvements - blind loyalty to the platform is expected. - A lot of external hiring over internal promotion

Pros

Office culture is amazing - dedicated "culture ambassadors" (a recruiter and engineer) plan events in the NYC office , and they're doing an amazing job, not to mention daily interactions and lunches with a strong in-office presence. Coworkers on my team are incredibly smart, kind, and thoughtful. In my experience, there is a total absence of known smart but "difficult" people, which is unheard of. Really interesting, technically deep projects, since we are fundamentally a data company. Perks and benefits are great. One of the rare tech companies that still seems to have all the right values regarding DEI, work life balance, and keeping its employees happy.

Cons

Not sure what the outlook is on the future of AI - we're certainly at a major inflection point with a new CTO and a lot of AI initiatives, and it remains to be seen how it goes. Quality of managers seems to be mixed. High management turnover, but that's the industry right now.

Pros

Some talented peers at the individual contributor level * Opportunity to learn resilience quickly (you’ll need it)

Cons

Extreme micromanagement—little trust in employees to do their jobs * Lack of support from leadership; managers tend to protect themselves rather than enable their teams * Culture of throwing subordinates under the bus instead of coaching or developing talent * Clear favoritism in opportunities, recognition, and territory assignments * Constant shrinking or shifting of territories, making it difficult to build sustainable pipeline or long-term success * No clear go-to-market vision or consistent strategy from leadership * Unprofessional management behavior and inconsistent expectations * Poor work-life balance; high pressure with little regard for sustainability * Challenging environment for employees with families due to lack of flexibility and understanding
