Cons
The company puts on a good front of being the do the right thing attitude. This couldn’t be further from the truth once you start working there and seeing and experiencing what really goes on. For the years i worked there, i saw sexual harassment and assault. Managers belittling you and poking fun at your sexuality or looks. Drug dealing and use at the venue, lots of employees will sell coke to other employees during the slow season to make more money. The management has no interest in the concerns of the employees and only values the company of the employees that they enjoy and show favoritism for, and hold to a different standard than others. If you try to voice any concern or try to get assistants the managers pretty much will wave you off and ignore you for bothering them. The amount of employees who are sleeping with each other, this includes managers sleeping with their employees is ridiculous. The venue i worked at had so many different sex tapes and pictures being showed and sent around, some of which involved one of the managers and an employee. You barely get any hours if its slow, if your scheduled and the sales are low, you’ll get called off. so there’s no guarantee that you’ll actually work the shifts your given. And sometimes shifts can be only 2 hrs long depending on business. And then at other times if busy, you can be working 10-12 hrs straight with no break because of how many people call off, or short staffed it is. Most of all the machinery is old and used from other restaurants and break down consistently and takes weeks for the management to get someone to come and just look at it. I loved working there when i first started. But as time when on, i really saw how morally bankrupt and toxic the environment was. And going to HR will only make it worse. They’ll tell you that you're causing a disruption and not upholding company core values ands fire you. Despite the fact that managers are sleeping around with employees and theirs drug use and sexual harassment to female servers and runners from the men. Management and HR turns an eye to harassment, and the punish you for speaking out. Only good thing out of working here were working with some and only some of the best people; in kitchen, bar, or other departments. you do get a feeling of family with your coworkers. But i also saw so many new hires that would for no reason be ostracized by other employees and ignored and made to feel unwelcome. Working here is pretty much like being in high school and dealing with all that drama.
