Pros

Super fun job, great tip opportunities, the very best coworkers

Cons

Managment is decent depending on what city youre in (run, run from Juneau). They let go the best manager in Ketchikan but the new one is ok. The owners when you meet them are super fake and kind of rude. Inconsistent work sometimes, depends on ships Passengers can be extremely difficult sometimes

Pros

Getting to live in alaska is a pro in and of itself, but the pay is great, tips can be amazing and it is an amazing once in a lifetime experience.

Cons

This job has its tough times, but if you can bring a good attitude it really helps. Days are long and sometimes passengers aren't nice or in a good mood. But I personally always tried to take it as a challenge and those long days mean good money.

Pros

Depending on your manager, this can be a great summer gig. We sometimes had the chance to travel to different divisons and see how other managers did things. I wouldnt go to Juneau, the management there is great. Skagway or Ketchikan would be good. Ok pay- same as everyone else Not having to find your own housing is great Generally really awesome coworkers

Cons

Some of the upper upper managers are kind of jerks. They sometimes promise things they dont deliver on. You have no control of your schedule. You jump when they say jump. Some days you work 4 hours, some days 16. Sometimes you work 23 days in a row, sometimes you dont work for 5 days in a row. They claim you can make 40 hrs, but sometimes thats not true.
