2yThank you for taking the time to leave a review. The full Executive Committee came together to discuss the experience you described around management and employee well-being. These behaviors are not aligned with our core values or our culture and are simply unacceptable. This type of behavior is not tolerated at Alector: we investigate all complaints, and act upon any allegations in our workplace. We have always addressed all concerns promptly, sensitively, and in the best interest of the employees involved and we assure you that any mistreatment that is brought to management’s attention is acted upon. This is tough to address here since we are not aware of any complaints (and there was no anonymous message through our Whistleblower hotline nor any engagement survey feedback), so it’s not possible to understand your specific situation. Though you indicated that you’re a former employee, we invite you to please reach out to any of our executive leaders or anonymously contact our third-party provider, Whistleblower Services at https://www.whistleblowerservices.com/alector, so we can understand and directly address the concerns you raised. These options are always available to our employees amongst other options.
We understand that individuals may not always feel comfortable reporting an issue with their direct manager. Other avenues our employees are encouraged to use include: speaking to a more senior leader in their – or any – organization, any of our Executive Committee members, their department’s assigned People Business Partner, anyone on the People or Legal teams; or, utilizing the anonymous hotline mentioned above.
Our teams are energized and effective, our people are collaborative and kind toward one another, and we’re doing excellent work in the service of our goals and more broadly, our patients. While this does not seem to have been your experience, we are incredibly proud of the collaborative, positive and respectful culture we have cultivated and will continue to do all we can to continually improve and keep this our top priority.
