Pros

Mission grade: A++. Farzad, Mat, and a few other executive leaders are great. They truly inspire you with a mission. You feel good about the work you are doing preventing hospitalizations, helping small rural doctor's offices serve patients, and improve health outcomes.

Cons

Execution and technology team changes grade: C. I was an early employee. This place used to be great. But grew quickly and went through growing pains. A lot of missteps and poor hires in middle management and leadership positions. On the product, design, and tech side, it's an average company. The product and engineering leadership leave a lot to be desired. They have experience from big tech companies sure, but they are in a much different sceanrio at a startup that is hoping to IPO versus where they were at larger tech companies. Seems like they were hired to put "ex-[impressive company name]" on the Aledade paperwork to get more investment money and eventual IPO price inflation. It will probably increase the stock price, and I'm happy about that, but the lack of leadership skill at the CPO and CTO levels became too much to bear after too many changes that didn't result in anything except more churn. Early product, engineering, and design teams got hired over and leveled lower by average Directors and VPs of this and that. They had less to bring to the table than the people they were managing, and in some cases there were multiple directors that had no direct reports to direct for years. The QA team got laid off pretty harshly also. Things really started moving at a snail's pace a year or so ago, around early to mid 2022. Based on the most recent fundraising price, I was vesting around $13,500 per month until my initial 4 year cliff hit. With my promo grant I dropped to vesting around $1,700 per month the first year (the vesting schedule was not 25%/year for promos, but 10%,20%, 30%, 40%, which was skewed against the employee and for the company). Pretty drastic difference in equity comp made it an easy decision to look around. I got multiple offers with a 25-40+% cash comp increase (plus greater equity) even after my promotion and adjustments, so it was a no brainer to try something new. Engineering has an internal doc that they share comp info and most tech employees would all do themselves a favor by picking their head up and looking around periodically. Unless the stock IPOs at well over $10B valuation, there is little reason to stay and get underpaid.

Pros

- Extremely smart, driven people were there at the beginning but as the company has progressed it's a different culture - Good mission and CEO is an ethical person

Cons

- Very disorganized and trying to do too many things at once (Aledade Care Solutions, ACCESS, A+, MA) - Inability to recognize competition and two steps behind with practice churn - Toxic people in leadership can get ahead, want to hear "yes men"
