Pros

Depending upon your job description, pay can be fair. Coworkers were very kind and helpful—no backbiting. Office is clean and modern.

Cons

AllianceMed purports to be a medical billing company, yet only about 5% of its total workforce has any medical billing experience. Of that 5%, only about 25% have anything even remotely resembling medical billing expertise. This is a very disorganized and dysfunctional workplace. There is no recognizable short- or long-term operational plan. Each day is jam-packed from start to finish with knee-jerk, reactive behavior amongst departments which neither collaborate nor effectively communicate their actions or intentions. The India-based team means well, but it is woefully inadequate despite its best efforts. The palpable hatred the US folks hold for the India personnel is surprising, but understandable based upon the events surrounding the offshore team’s formation and the subsequent layoff of US employees. Morale is low, and confusion is high. There is still a bit of the “good old boys” network present within the Executive ranks. Some of these Executives are profane and condescending, while others are sullen isolationists who prefer to be left alone, even when there are pressing business matters which require resolution.

This certainly does not reflect our company at all and to be clear - we did not lay off 10% of our company. We laid off 7 people and it was not an easy task at all - but one we had to make. I invite anyone to stop in and talk to any of our employees and you will hear a much different story than what is being portrayed here. We wish you well in your next endeavor.

Pros

I've worked at plenty of places with better benefits, but I would constantly hear from others how great the benefits were, so, to many, the benefits are good. Pay can be really good, depending on who you are. Location is nice, too.

Cons

CEO is a loose cannon and a control freak. A lot of members of the VP team are inexperienced and immature. They talk up the company like it's the best thing since sliced bread, but in reality it is a mediocre company with mediocre benefits. They have some young management who got promoted for being a family member/close friend/good schmoozer. You can do anything/go anywhere if you schmooze enough, don't question the big egos, and dress right. Looking for a company with good structure? You won't find it here. Looking for an open company culture where your ideas will be heard? You won't find it here. Looking for diversity? You get a pseudo version of that here. Working as a salaried employee? Expect to work a minimum of 50-70 hours here. Think you'll have a flexible work environment in return for dedicating 60 hours a week? You'll get written up for taking "too much" time off to tend to your sick children after they advertise flexibility here. A great place to work if you come from a crappier place with low pay, but this is, by far, the worst place I've worked for.

Thank you for your review. We have gone through some big changes in the last few months and have been very fortunate to find a management team that works really well together. Together we encourage one another and have opened the door to our employees. I am sorry you had a horrible experience here. We strive to make it a better place and I feel we have been very successful in doing so. We wish you the very best in your career and hope you found a good place to call home.
